Q.2.2
(Could digital footprints become a problem)
What are digital footprints?
Digital footprints are the trails/traces or footprints that people leave behind on the internet, such as information transmitted online like emails, attachments, videos being uploaded, or any other forms of transmission of information online (The IIE, DIGC5110. 2015: p.51).
Do I think it will become a problem?
Well to a certain degree yes, because it is all our personal information that people such as hackers can either track or can also be a case of cyber-bullying where people can access this information that you’ve posted and use to their advantage, etc.
Although my view is there are positives and negatives to digital footprints and that only to a certain degree digital footprint can become a problem, because it is our responsibility/duty to know what trail we are leaving behind or what repercussions we may face if we are not careful which may lead to more serious underlying issues. So, it is the way we aim to use the internet whether that be for bad (sexting, cyber bullying, cyber stalking, etc.) or good (e.g. Creating content online that educates and teaches people about certain aspects.
Introduction:
Technology in general has influenced many aspects in society today. Digital citizenship is our developing norms of responsible and increased technology use online or on various social networks. This task includes all those aspects such as the 9 elements that make up digital citizenship, characteristics of a digital citizen, how digital citizens can build and enhance social capital, as well as the digital footprints, the fluencies we need to master in order to go beyond being digitally literate to being digital citizens and many more aspects.
Question1:
Q.1.1
(9 Elements)
Q.1.2
(How a digital citizen can build and enhance social capital)
Social capital is the networks of relationships (networks such as social networks, family networks, former colleague networks, etc.) or shared norms and values whereby people who work and live in particular society, function effectively (What is Social Capital, 2019).
Therefore, it is essential for us digital citizens to make use of the benefits social networks and social platforms has to offer in terms of sharing as well as processing information in the work place or even developing digital citizens socially. That is why it is essential to make use of all these networks and platforms to enhance and build our social capital and create a sense of worth amongst the people that are all connected socially and on the internet.
The communication aspect comes into play when using platforms as platforms can help increase social capital by communicating about certain products, services or even to build a connection.
Which in the end ultimately builds social capital and benefits the citizen whether that be through selling the product, creating a connection or even creating a bond/trust with that certain individual or relationship network, which in the end ultimately creates a sense of trust and enhances social capital between whomever.

Message
Listening to the speaker in the video quoting what Pogba had said as the guy does the voice over and the feedback he had given, filtering out the ‘noise’ (music), focusing more on the subtitles and voice over in the actual video
Verbalise
To summarize what the speaker of the video entailed about what Pogba had spoken about was that Pogba himself took the racist remarks bravely and had discussed that there is a need for change in the racism in football and that he was not the first to be targeted by these racist remarks.
Verify
To swiftly state the facts was that Pogba had said that he was not the only person that was targeted by the racist comments on social media , but players like Raheem Sterling, Moise Kean and Malcolm also being put in these categories according to sources of ”Oh my Goal” regarding them being ill treated and put under threats and being called certain things are all facts that I’ve found reliable sources to.
Medium
The medium of the message was through a platform called ”YouTube” which is very well known and is reliable in terms of relevant info needed to be searched as well as accredited sources, and the physical delivery was n my opinion the best way to deliver a message as it holds intense music, factual statements, voice overlay and videos/images to back the info up
Form
The form was rather cool and collected with relevant info and a controversial topic well discussed and put out in terms of factual statements with the right pictures/videos and relevancy making the viewer stay to watch throughout
Flow
Started off subtle and to draw the viewer in with more aggressive topics being discussed and was not very long so was easy to find the relevant info and encouraged the viewer to stay in terms of facts being discussed knowing it was from reliable sources.
Alignment
The intended audience got what they were looking for in terms of seeing racism in a sporting context in football and how Pogba had faces those comments with the voice overlay telling us what he said, with other relevant topics being mentioned to support the statements as well as a good length of the video and not too long.
Divide in Facilities
The area in which I stay is very developed in terms of infrastructure and provision of public services. There are a fair amount of buildings such as hospitals, schools and malls that benefit the public. It has every aspect in terms of what a suburban area should have. However a few more parks and outdoor facilities could be implemented.
Socio-Economic Divide (Internet)
The access to the internet or WiFi is very regular and people use it always to communicate on social media platforms whether that be in the comfort of their homes as opposed to the new fiber cables being installed or even in an internet cafe which are provided around Sandton which just shows how developed the area is in terms of the internet facilities and ease of access to the internet in general.
Digital Divide in Content
The information is easily accessible due to many things provided to the public in the area and the fact that there is stable connections to work from in terms of accessing the internet and searching for information.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
